Over the course of our podcast, certain scriptures keep coming up again and again. Here are the Bible verses that have meant the most to us as moms.

Our Favorite Bible Verses for Moms From the Podcast

One of the things we love most about doing this podcast is the way certain scriptures keep surfacing — in our own lives, in our conversations with guests, in the messages we receive from listeners.

There are verses that seem to find moms exactly when they need them. Verses that have been prayed over sleeping children and whispered in moments of desperation and written on sticky notes on bathroom mirrors.

These are some of our favorites. The ones we come back to again and again. The ones that have shaped how we think about motherhood, faith, and what it means to follow Jesus in the middle of the beautiful, exhausting, sacred work of raising children.

For the Overwhelmed Mom

Isaiah 40:31"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

This one comes up constantly on the podcast. When you're running on empty, when the to-do list is endless, when you genuinely don't know how you're going to keep going — this is the promise you stand on. Strength renewed. Not by trying harder, but by hoping in Him.

Matthew 11:28"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

The invitation is always open. You don't have to earn your way to rest. You just have to come.

For the Anxious Mom

Philippians 4:6-7"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Every mom knows anxiety. The worry about your kids' health, their friendships, their futures. This verse doesn't promise that the worries will go away — it promises that when you bring them to God, a peace that makes no logical sense will stand guard over your heart.

1 Peter 5:7"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."

All of it. Not just the big stuff. The small worries, the middle-of-the-night fears, the things that seem too small to pray about — cast them all. He cares about every single one.

For the Mom Who Feels Like She's Failing

Lamentations 3:22-23"Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."

Every morning is a fresh start. His mercies don't run out. Yesterday's failures don't define today. This is one of the most comforting truths in all of Scripture for moms who are hard on themselves.

Romans 8:1"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."

None. Not for the mom who lost her temper. Not for the mom who fed her kids cereal for dinner. Not for the mom who cried in the bathroom. No condemnation. Full stop.

For the Mom Praying for Her Children

Proverbs 22:6"Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it."

This verse has been a lifeline for so many moms on the podcast — especially those with children who are walking away from faith. The promise stands. Keep planting seeds. Keep praying. Keep pointing them toward Jesus.

3 John 1:4"I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth."

This is the prayer of every Christian mom's heart. And it's a prayer God loves to answer.

For the Mom in a Hard Season

Romans 8:28"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

All things. Not just the good things. The hard things, the painful things, the things that make no sense — God is working in all of it for your good. That doesn't make the hard things easy, but it makes them purposeful.

Psalm 34:18"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."

He doesn't stand at a distance when you're broken. He draws close. If you're in a hard season right now, He is nearer than you know.

For the Mom Who Needs Courage

Joshua 1:9"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

Motherhood requires courage. Courage to set boundaries, to have hard conversations, to raise your kids differently than the culture says to. This is the command and the promise: be courageous, because you are not alone.

2 Timothy 1:7"For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline."

You have been given a spirit of power. Not timidity. Not fear. Power, love, and self-discipline — exactly what motherhood requires.
